Codifying a semester design course

December 2019

In summation of my first design studio course in graduate school, I decided to capture the semester using data visualization. Every touchpoint I came in contact with — group chat messages, sketches on paper, Google Docs, etc., — is placed on a timeline. The approximate number of words on the document determines its latitude. Each of my peers is assigned a color that denotes whether they are the touchpoint owner or a collaborator. The cover symbolizes edited sections of our class syllabus which was kept in a collaborative spreadsheet. The final result is a dance of shape, line, and color that I feel truly captures the vibrant, creative atmosphere of the class.
